Lawyer Discusses Tragic Consequences Of Alleged Wrong-way Driving

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says that it received reports of an erratic driver shortly before there was a call regarding a crash on the Will Rogers Turnpike at about 6 p.m. on Friday, July 31.

Alleged Wrong-way Driver

The OHP report says that a 32-year-old female motorist driving a 2014 Chevy Malibu was allegedly eastbound in the westbound lanes when her vehicle collided with a black 2014 Ford pickup and a yellow 2004 Chevy Colorado.

Loss of Life Reported

The driver of the Malibu and the 40-year-old man driving the Ford pickup both died at the scene. The three occupants of the Chevrolet Colorado, a 45-year-old male, a 24-year-old male and a 22-year-old male, did not require medical treatment. Witnesses reported seeing the Ford pickup burst into flames at impact.

Authorities closed the turnpike at Verdigris Gate (mile marker 248) for approximately two hours so that investigators and cleanup crews could complete their work, according to News 6.
