Mrs. Payne goes above and beyond for her students. She has planted canola and wheat in a small plot at our school where they have charted the results all year. She has started a butterfly garden and watches the stages of the butterfly each year. She gives her students opportunities to participate in contests like Ag in the Classroom art contest where they can express their abilities. The students are challenged with projects throughout the year like interviewing a grandparent and building and writing about a building in town that is an important part of Carnegie. She is diligent in making sure all standards of the curriculum are covered. She also helps in any way she can in the building. She has won the Teacher of the Year at Carnegie Public Schools a couple of years ago. She is an amazing person and teacher. I am her principal. My daughter had her in class when she was in 2nd grade. She is now a freshman at The University of Oklahoma.
