Hailey Couch is a phenomenal kindergarten teacher in Norman Public Schools. She exemplifies the caring, loving, knowledgeable educator that provides a wonderful incredibly enriched environment that allows students to learn at their level of need. She provides her students with an incredible uplifting learning environment filled with passion and happiness. She encourages students to perform tasks with fun and innovative lesson plans that include hands on learning with manipulatives like stuffed animals, hand held pointers, magnetic letters of the alphabet, write and wipe boards, counters, variety of writing utensils, books, magazines, large print books, newspapers, and hand written charts and much more. She uses data to drive her instruction and track student growth. As a learner, she is involved in Great Expectations as a facilitator and trainer. She assisted in the alignment of academic standards for the new kindergarten report card. She is on the Kindergarten Advisory Board, Early Childhood Committee and Climate Committee. Hailey was elected as Teacher of the Year at her Site this school year. She advocates for the success of each of her students as individual learners and that her goal is to provide her students with an amazing learning experience in an environment that is inclusive to their needs as learners and citizens,
